Job Summary
The Individual Giving Officer manages a portfolio of major and leadership donors, securing financial support and engaging with donors to deepen relationships and inspire increased philanthropic support. Responsibilities include qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual, special, and planned gifts, conducting regular outreach to build donor relationships, and maintaining accurate donor information. Required skills include fundraising experience, understanding civil rights issues, and proficiency with donor databases. A commitment to an inclusive workplace is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in development or portfolio management
- Proven experience in major individual gift fundraising
- Ability to understand and describe civil rights and civil liberties work
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized
- Commitment to equity and inclusion
- Proficient with office technology and donor databases
- Ability to travel for donor visits
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a non-profit institution of comparable complexity and scale
- Knowledge of c3 and c4 fundraising
