Job Summary
Direct Support Professional providing in-home support to one person, assisting with daily routines, meals, shopping, activities, transportation, personal care, household chores, and mentoring to help the individual achieve goals. Role includes participating in planning support, supporting team development, and rotating on-call duties (one week every 5–7 weeks). A valid driver’s license and ability to drive agency vehicles are required, along with on-site training, CPR certification, and DHS background checks. Wage is $21.50 per hour, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus; weekend and evening shifts are emphasized; hours of 30+ considered full-time.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have and show basic computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Well-organized and attentive to detail
- Cooperative and willing to learn
- Ability to interpret various instructions
- Enhanced math skills – must be able to accurately balance a budget and basic math transactions
- Professional, clear, and positive oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must be able to lift and transfer 25 pounds minimum
- Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to drive agency vehicles
- Must pass required DHS background check and Protective Service Investigations
- Complete and maintain all certifications as required by the position
