Job Summary
Screen clients for assessment or admission by receiving preliminary information and contacting referring sources, applicants, and families. Coordinate intake meetings with program staff, create service plans, and maintain the regional wait list while updating applicant files. Manage housing applications and referrals through database documentation and administrative tasks, ensuring all client records comply with data collection standards. Respond to telephone and email inquiries regarding service requests. This temporary 14-week contract runs from September to December 2026, with a full-time 35-hour schedule. The position supports Indwell's mission to provide affordable housing and supportive programs for over 1,200 tenants in the London region.
Required Qualifications
- First Nations, Inuit, or Métis
- Between the ages of 18 and 30
- Valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Not otherwise employed during the internship
- Not receiving Employment Insurance benefits or agree to discontinue benefits before the start of the internship
- Available to work for the duration of the contract
- College diploma or university degree
- Experience working in a social service setting
- Commitment to Indwell's mission, vision and faith statement
- Genuine interest in providing quality care for individuals living with mental illness, chronic conditions and physical disabilities
- Knowledge of resources for affordable housing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivator to complete tasks independently required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to maintain good interpersonal relationships
- Courteous, tactful, diplomatic and friendly
