Indigenous Academies Program Coordinator NSW

Job Summary
Coordinate the delivery of the Western Sydney Indigenous Academies across partner schools in Blacktown and Campbelltown; deliver culturally appropriate mentoring, support and leadership development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students; build trusted relationships with school leaders, Aboriginal Education Officers, students, families and community partners; support students to improve school engagement, attendance, completion and transition outcomes; connect students with education, employment and community opportunities; coordinate after-school academy activities focused on community connection, health and wellbeing; support the development and implementation of academy term plans and program initiatives; lead and support casual program staff to deliver engaging and impactful programs; monitor participation, attendance and program data to support reporting and continuous improvement; identify and support students who may require additional assistance or intervention; manage program administration including research, bookings, stakeholder coordination and activity planning; work collaboratively with AFL NSW/ACT, schools, community organisations and the GWS GIANTS to maximise program impact
Required Qualifications
- Certificate qualification in community services, health, youth work, social work or a related field
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current Working with Children Check
- National Police Check

- Identification as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is an occupational requirement for this role
