Job Summary
Visit firehouses, police departments, and public safety facilities to introduce Mermaid AI and conduct live, in-person demonstrations of the company's AI-powered radio solution. Build relationships with chiefs, officers, and municipal decision-makers to identify opportunities and move deals through the full sales cycle. Act as the face of Mermaid AI in your territory while attending regional events, trainings, and industry meetups. Provide real-world feedback to help shape product evolution. This commission-only role for a 1099 contractor offers uncapped earnings with all travel expenses covered, targeting self-motivated sellers who can translate technical innovation into real-world value for public safety agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Self-motivated
- Does not need a base salary to perform
- Comfortable walking into a firehouse or police department and starting a conversation
- Strong communicator
- Can translate technical innovation into real-world value
- Organized
- Disciplined in managing own pipeline
- Excited about selling a new category of AI technology
- Field-based sales experience
- Must be available for regional/national travel
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (implied by boots-on-the-ground field role context)
- Must be able to conduct live, in-person demonstrations
- Must be able to build relationships with chiefs, officers, and municipal decision-makers
- Must be able to identify opportunities and move deals through the full sales cycle

Desired Qualifications
- Background in public safety (firefighter, police, EMS)
