Job Summary
Conduct independent scrutiny and constructive challenge during monthly fostering panel meetings to evaluate foster carer approvals, reviews, and related matters. Analyze complex panel papers in advance and contribute to balanced recommendations that prioritize children's health, wellbeing, and developmental needs. Ensure safeguarding responsibilities and equality, diversity, and inclusion are fully considered within multidisciplinary discussions. Attend meetings held on the first Wednesday of each month, either at the Harold Wood office or online, receiving induction and ongoing support to maintain high standards across London and East region fostering services.
Required Qualifications
- recognised health professional qualification
- relevant professional experience
- knowledge of children's health, development and wellbeing
- understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and the needs of vulnerable children and young people
- ability to analyse complex information and contribute confidently to panel discussions
- sound professional judgement and the ability to offer constructive challenge
- commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience of fostering, adoption, children's services or panel work
