Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one support for individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and cerebral palsy, focusing on daily personal hygiene, community navigation, meal prep, and budgeting. Provide guidance on establishing consistent routines while encouraging independence in activities like showering, dressing, and self-advocacy. Adapt training to address unique challenges in safety, mobility, and communication, ensuring clients express preferences using their preferred style. Maintain safety protocols and accessibility standards during home and community visits. Requires early morning availability, CPR/First Aid certification, and valid identification.
Required Qualifications
- Two forms of valid identification
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Live Scan fingerprint clearance
- Current TB test clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, and Cerebral Palsy preferred
- Patient, dependable, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to provide hands-on assistance as needed
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred
- Comfortable providing hands-on support while promoting independence
- Able to work independently during scheduled early am hours
