Job Summary
Provide daily personal hygiene and self-care support while encouraging independence in routine tasks. Assist with community navigation, including safe travel to the kitchen, and guide shopping and budgeting activities. Update HUD housing information and ensure safety awareness during home and community visits. Address unique challenges related to cognitive or behavioral barriers through patient, adaptable hands-on assistance. Maintain consistent follow-through and observe client needs closely. This role involves one-on-one support in home settings for an individual with a mild intellectual disability, requiring current CPR certification and fingerprint clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Two forms of valid identification
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Live Scan fingerprint clearance
- Current TB test clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, and Cerebral Palsy preferred
- Patient, dependable, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to provide hands-on assistance as needed
- Able to work independently
