Job Summary
Provide one-on-one support for an individual with a mild intellectual disability, focusing on daily living skills like shopping, meal preparation, and household management. Assist with medical appointments by advocating on their behalf and helping navigate unique challenges. Establish consistent daily routines while encouraging independence and utilizing strategies to promote accessibility. Work in home and community settings, providing hands-on assistance as needed while maintaining a patient, adaptable approach.
Required Qualifications
- Two forms of valid identification
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Live Scan fingerprint clearance
- Current TB test clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, and Cerebral Palsy preferred
- Patient, dependable, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to provide hands-on assistance as needed
- Able to work independently
