Job Summary
Independent Freight Agent (1099 contract) to build customer relationships, source carriers, negotiate rates, and manage shipments end-to-end using Ascent’s systems. Responsibilities include building relationships, sourcing/qualifying carriers, negotiating rates, handling shipment documentation, managing shipments from booking to delivery, resolving service issues, and maintaining accurate records. Key skills include carrier operations, dispatching, rate negotiation, experience with TMS/load boards (DAT, Truckstop), and compliance awareness.
Required Qualifications
- Active, transferable book of business required
- Must reside and operate in the United States
- Strong knowledge of carrier operations, dispatching, and rate negotiation
- Experience with TMS platforms and load boards such as DAT and Truckstop
