Job Summary
Develop initial academic structures for upper-year undergraduate computer science courses within the University of Fredericton's established program framework. Create measurable course learning outcomes, map them to program expectations, and design an eight-week asynchronous course structure with weekly topics. Identify primary textbooks, develop assessment structures aligned with outcomes, and prepare representative sample assessments with rubrics. Respond to feedback during internal review and address technology or resource considerations for future full development. This fixed-fee, short-term engagement focuses on syllabus and assessment planning for single courses, with a typical development period of two to four weeks. Successful contractors may be considered for additional contracts or full course development.
Required Qualifications
- a completed doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
- demonstrated academic, research, teaching, or professional competence in the subject area of the course under consideration
- experience developing or substantially revising post-secondary courses, curricula, assessments, or instructional materials
- experience writing measurable learning outcomes and aligning course content and assessments with those outcomes
- strong written communication and organizational skills
- the ability to develop academically rigorous material for undergraduate learners
- the ability to work within established program, accreditation, and course-development requirements
- the ability to meet agreed-upon development and revision timelines

- Experience developing courses for asynchronous online delivery
