Job Summary
Design a wide range of visual materials including infographics, reports, one-pagers, presentations, social media graphics, and event banners to support CG-USA's communications and advocacy work. Collaborate with staff to translate written content into compelling, audience-appropriate visual formats while ensuring all outputs adhere to established brand guidelines. Manage multiple concurrent design requests by prioritizing effectively, communicating proactively on timelines, and delivering final files with organized, editable source documents. Incorporate stakeholder feedback promptly and stay current with design trends to recommend best practices to internal teams. This ongoing independent contractor engagement lasts two years with work assigned on a rolling basis, compensated at an agreed hourly rate.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or equivalent qualification
- Proven track record as a Graphic Designer
- Strong portfolio demonstrating range across digital and print formats
- Ability to interpret briefs quickly and produce polished designs with minimal back-and-forth
- Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, and layout principles
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, or equivalent)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously and meet deadlines reliably
- Alignment with Common Ground USA's communications needs, mission, and organizational values
- Relevant academic and professional qualifications
- Quality, creativity, and relevance of the submitted portfolio
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality visual assets for nonprofit organizations or similar clients
- Ability to meet the scope of work and provide timely, high-quality deliverables
