Job Summary
Independent Auditor-Consultant to conduct annual financial audits of a nonprofit organization, review internal controls and compliance procedures, present audit findings to management and the Board of Directors or Finance Committee, and provide a management letter outlining recommendations and observations. The role requires CPA licensure, at least five years of nonprofit auditing experience, expertise with 501(c)(3) accounting, familiarity with grant-funded organizations and Uniform Guidance, current professional liability insurance, and a recent peer review. The candidate will be available to answer questions from management and board members.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Minimum of five years' experience auditing nonprofit organizations
- Demonstrated expertise with 501(c)(3) accounting and reporting requirements
- Experience with grant-funded organizations and Uniform Guidance compliance (if applicable)
- Maintain current professional liability insurance
- Completed a peer review within the last three years
