Job Summary
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Document inspection results accurately in the Quality Management System and identify non-conforming materials to initiate Material Review Board processes. Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and support corrective action efforts while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This role requires a high school diploma, 1-3 years of manufacturing quality control experience, and proficiency in reading engineering drawings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection role
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Proficient in using various measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
- Certification in a relevant quality discipline (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician)
- Experience with various types of destructive and non-destructive testing
