Job Summary
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against engineering drawings and quality standards. Document inspection results accurately, including acceptance, rejection, and non-conformance details, while utilizing measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators. Initiate and process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for rejected materials, ensuring proper containment and communication. Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment according to established schedules and procedures. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve material discrepancies and improve supplier quality. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing inspection duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree in a technical field
- 1-3 years experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in using various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conforming materials
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with a CMM or other automated inspection equipment
- Familiarity with PPAP, APQP, and other quality management systems
- IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification
- Proficiency in using an ERP system for quality records and inventory management
- Ability to interpret and apply GD&T principles
