Job Summary
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against specifications and blueprints. Utilize various inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators, to verify product conformance. Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly in the designated quality management system or logbooks. Identify and tag non-conforming materials, initiating the appropriate disposition process and communication to relevant departments. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve material discrepancies and improve incoming quality. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area, adhering to all company safety protocols. This role supports manufacturing partners in the Grand Haven region seeking skilled professionals for quality assurance positions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing quality role
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with various inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges)
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with CMM operation and/or programming
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, welding)
- ASQ certifications (e.g., CQI, CQT)
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T
- Proficiency in using statistical software for data analysis
