Income Tax Accountant

Job Summary
Review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance. Develop and implement tax optimization strategies to minimize liability while managing research for corporate audits, notices, and amendments. Analyze changing tax laws and regulations to assess impacts on the company and shareholders. Mentor junior staff, assist in professional development, and review monthly reconciliations for general ledger tax accounts. Prepare annual forecasts for income tax accruals by entity and jurisdiction. This role reports to the Global Tax Manager within a team of over 30 people. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting
- 8-12 years of relevant job experience
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to lead teams, manage workflows, and meet strict deadlines while handling multiple priorities
- Strong verbal and written skills for explaining complex regulations to non-specialists
- Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately
- Ability to identify and correct errors
- Sufficient interpersonal skills to effectively interact with people inside and outside the company
- Strong supervisory and decision-making skills
- Eight or more years of experience with corporate income tax preparation and analysis
- Ability to research, analyze, and retrieve data necessary to complete duties
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time if necessary
