Job Summary
Inbound Transportation Optimization Specialist at Macy’s is responsible for daily planning, execution, and monitoring of inbound shipments from vendors into Macy’s supply chain using the Transportation Management System (TMS). Plan, route, and monitor inbound shipments to distribution facilities, ensuring loads are built, tendered, and executed per established standards and timelines; manage daily inbound activity in the TMS with shipment visibility and alignment to requirements; track performance, identify issues, and take corrective action in collaboration with vendors, carriers, and internal teams; leverage data and dashboards to monitor vendor behavior, routing accuracy, service performance, and cost drivers; ensure compliance with transportation policies and routing guidelines; build strong working relationships with vendors and carriers, and foster an inclusive, respectful environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Transportation
- Experience using transportation management systems (such as Blue Yonder)
- Strong data interpretation and reporting skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with vendors, carriers, and internal teams
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with routing guidelines
