Job Summary
Lead floor teams including forklift drivers and crane operators to manage the safe unloading of massive bulk freight from railcars, ocean containers, and flatbed trucks. Oversee the physical receipt, data verification, and secure storage of incoming industrial metals and bulk commodities while streamlining dock traffic to optimize daily turnaround times. Conduct quality audits on shipments for water damage, corrosion, or defects, and reconcile physical data against customs permits to maintain strict LME compliance. Orchestrate receiving dock layouts and manage structural floor loads to prevent safety hazards, enforcing OSHA standards through daily training and equipment checks. Begin each shift with safety huddles and review freight schedules, then monitor active unloads and troubleshoot broken loads. Input receipts into the Warehouse Management System to ensure exact tracking of every inbound lot and provide real-time feedback to staff.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years in industrial warehousing, heavy freight logistics, or bulk commodity operations
- Proven experience supervising floor teams
- Operating heavy machinery (forklifts, overhead cranes)
