Job Summary
Inbound Freight Coordinator at Hy-Vee (Chariton, IA). Core duties include contacting outside carriers to negotiate pick-up and delivery of products to Hy-Vee Distribution Centers, processing invoices, coordinating shipper information with carriers, and assisting in calling for truck capacity. Responsibilities also cover invoice reconciliation, investigating detention requests, maintaining communication with trucking companies and Hy-Vee purchasing, and providing coverage for holidays/vacations. Required Qualifications

- Ability to solve practical problems; arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Experience in negotiating freight rates and coordinating pickup/delivery with carriers
- Proficiency in invoice processing/reconciliation and vendor communications
- Excellent communication with trucking companies, vendors, and Hy-Vee purchasing
- Ability to track and update vendor allowances and freight exception reports
- Willingness to rotate after-hours phone duties
- Office-based work environment familiarity
- Pre-employment drug screen requirement
