Job Summary
Support scientific efforts by planning, executing, and analyzing experiments involving behavioral studies, tissue/sample collection, perfusion, and molecular biology techniques. Schedule and execute experimental protocols while maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring procedural quality and regulatory compliance. Prepare and present written documents summarizing research efforts. This role supports the Aberdeen Research Operation within the defense community, focusing on in vivo imaging, neuro-cognitive assessments, and bio-sampling.
Required Qualifications
- Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain
- U.S. citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with animal handling
- Experience with neuro-cognitive behavioral assessments
- Experience with in vivo bio-sampling
- Experience with tissue collection/necropsy
Desired Qualifications
- Exceptional candidates with less experience
- In vivo imaging (e.g. fiber-photometry)
- Molecular biology (Cre-Lox, viral gene delivery, immunohistochemistry, western blot, etc.)
- Machine/deep learning (large dataset processing via Python, R, C++, MATLAB)
- Experience documenting results in presentations and publications in technical reports, conference proceedings, and peer review journals
