Job Summary
Greet customers and donors while processing donations, issuing receipts, and assisting with lifting items. Sort incoming donations into proper carts or bins, determine quality, and sort and price hard goods. Maintain a clean and safe production area, adhere to the dress code, and provide general information to visitors. React calmly to emergency situations and refer any complaints to management. Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager. This role requires lifting up to 40 pounds regularly and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to adhere to the organization's Core Principles
- Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling
- Ability to listen and follow directions
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to react calmly and respond to emergency situations
- Knowledge of textile articles as related to garment classification (gowns, shirts, pants, etc)
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Standing and walking for long periods of time
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push and pull
- Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers
- Acceptable and job-related drug test
- Motor vehicle report
- Reference check
Desired Qualifications
- Previous retail and/or stock handling experience
- Basic computer skills
- Beginner knowledge of utilizing a barcode scanner
