Job Summary
Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and customer equipment in a service shop. Perform preventative maintenance based on engine assessments, utilizing computers and software for diagnostic work. Apply documented procedures to complete complex repairs, identifying and preparing required parts and tools. Complete required documentation, including work orders, time sheets, and warranty claims via handwritten forms or business systems. Assist experienced technicians with diagnostics and repair plan development while maintaining a clean workshop environment. Adhere to all Health, Safety & Environmental policies and report incidents to supervisors. Receive ongoing training and certifications on Cummins products.
Required Qualifications
- In-Shop Diesel Technician experience
- Engine repair skills
- Troubleshooting skills
- Preventative maintenance skills
- Computer/software diagnostic skills
- Ability to apply documented procedures and policies
- Ability to identify and prepare required parts and tools
- Ability to complete required documentation (work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents)
- Handwritten form completion skills
- Business system input screen skills
- Ability to complete training in line with skill and business requirements
- Ability to maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
- Health, Safety & Environmental policy adherence
- Ability to report issues / incidents to supervisor
