Job Summary
Responsibilities include designing, writing, and testing custom security rules (e.g., Cursor, VS Code) to enforce security best practices in real-time as developers code. Develop lightweight, executable automation scripts (Python/Bash) for endpoint pre-push security reviews. Create and document best practices for GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), optimizing CodeQL queries and Dependabot configurations for high-fidelity scanning. Focus on Developer Experience (DX) by ensuring security tools are frictionless and highly valuable to engineers, and produce clear, actionable guides for engineering teams. Required skills include 3+ years of hands-on software development (Python/TypeScript/Go), deep familiarity with IDEs (VS Code, Cursor) and their configuration ecosystems, practical GitHub Actions and GHAS experience, understanding of SAST and SCA (e.g., Dependabot, OSV), AI coding tool experience (GitHub Copilot, Cursor), scripting proficiency (Python, Shell), and strong problem-solving to deliver lightweight local solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years hands-on software development (Python, TypeScript, or Go preferred)
- Deep familiarity with modern IDEs (VS Code, Cursor) and configuration ecosystems (settings.json, extensions)
- Practical experience with GitHub Actions and GitHub Advanced Security features (CodeQL, Dependabot)
- Security mindset with knowledge of SAST and SCA (e.g., Dependabot, OSV)
- Experience using AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and understanding prompts
- Strong scripting ability in Python and shell
- Problem solving and ability to create lightweight, efficient local automation
- Experience implementing AI thinking to drive efficiencies across development lifecycles
- Education: B.Tech/B.E.
