Job Summary
Answer telephone orders accurately, repeat them back for confirmation, and call guests before delivery. Prepare stations with clean china and glassware, set trays, and deliver food and beverage to rooms according to established standards. Process mini-bar tickets, handle cash with accurate balancing, and drop funds into the safe. Retrieve and clear trays from floors, replenish amenities, and check the VIP list to communicate orders to the kitchen. Handle guest complaints, ensure overall satisfaction, and perform opening and closing duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- experience in a hotel or related field
- Flexible and long hours
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
- multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
