Job Summary
In-House Legal Counsel II, Accident Benefits, in Canada. Manage accident benefits disputes, loss transfer and priority dispute files from start to finish; appear before the License Appeal Tribunal; coach and collaborate with lawyers, adjusters, and support staff to achieve pragmatic, proactive resolutions. Flexible, hybrid work environment with a focus on delivering strategic indemnity and expense control, client relationships, and sound legal judgment. Requires membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, 5+ years of insurance litigation experience, and proficiency with iManage, ACL, and the Microsoft Office suite.
Required Qualifications
- A member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Minimum of 5+ years of insurance litigation experience
- Experience in assessing and handling Accident Benefits files
- Experience at the License Appeal Tribunal
- Experience in private arbitrations is an asset
- Proficiency with AI tools, iManage, ACL and Microsoft Office
