Job Summary
Legal counsel for fire claims in the State Farm Law Department; provide advisory services on creation, interpretation, and coverage of P&C insurance policies; draft policy language, analyze coverage, interpret statutes/regulations, support defense and coverage in litigation; collaborate with internal business units and outside counsel; require ABA law degree, active state license, potential Illinois limited license, and operate in a hybrid on-site/remote arrangement in Bloomington, IL; travel may be required; compensation in the stated salary range with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one state and good standing
- Ability to obtain a limited license to practice in Illinois if not licensed there
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. immediately; will not sponsor
- Preferred: 5+ years of property & casualty coverage and litigation experience
