Job Summary
Review, draft, and negotiate customer agreements, commercial leases, construction contracts, and vendor agreements. Develop standard form templates and advise on contract risk, indemnification, and insurance requirements. Draft legal notices, demand letters, and correspondence while managing deadline tracking for material contracts and Hudson River Park Trust compliance. Advise senior leadership on legal risk, proactively identify exposure, and recommend mitigation strategies. Support HR on employment matters, oversee outside counsel relationships, and assist with regulatory filings. Organize the legal file system and maintain a framework for organizational governance. This role suits an experienced attorney seeking a generalist position with a positive work-life balance. Chelsea Piers is open to structuring engagement as full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours/week).
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- admission to the New York State Bar (or eligible for in-house counsel registration)
- Minimum 8 years of legal experience
