In-House Corporate Counsel

Job Summary
The Corporate Counsel will provide practical, business-oriented legal advice across employment law, commercial contracts, intellectual property, and government regulatory/compliance. Responsibilities include advising HR on hiring, discipline, wage-hour compliance, employee relations, and investigations; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment agreements and a broad range of commercial contracts; developing contract templates and playbooks; supporting litigation coordination with outside counsel; protecting the company’s IP portfolio and advising on licensing and technology transfer; monitoring federal, state, local regulatory requirements and participating in regulatory compliance programs; assisting with government contracting and export-control-related matters (EAR/ITAR/DFARS); supporting product teams and management with risk assessment and mitigation; and delivering legal training. The ideal candidate possesses 6–8 years of relevant experience, strong judgment, and the ability to partner with business leaders across the organization. The role requires a J.D., bar admission, and demonstrated experience across employment law counseling, complex contract drafting, IP matters, and government-regulatory compliance. The position is based in Salt Lake City with a hybrid work arrangement possible; on-site work is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active U.S. state bar admission in good standing
- 6–8 years of legal experience
- Significant experience in employment law counseling and compliance
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Experience advising on intellectual property matters and portfolio management
- Familiarity with export control regulations (EAR), ITAR, and DFARS
- Experience supporting companies in regulated industries (aerospace/defense/uncited) or related regulatory environments
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
