Job Summary
Experienced Code & Zoning Consultant to provide expert guidance on land use, zoning compliance, building code interpretation, permitting strategies, and entitlement processes for NYC projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use and institutional developments. Collaborates with architects, developers, engineers, attorneys, expeditors, and regulatory agencies in NYC; performs zoning analyses, interprets NYC Building Code and Zoning Resolution, prepares due diligence and technical reports, advises on variances and special permits, coordinates with project teams, supports permits and agency sign-offs, and monitors regulatory changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 8–10 years of experience in NYC zoning, code consulting, architecture, planning, or development
- Extensive knowledge of NYC Zoning Resolution
- Extensive knowledge of NYC Building Code
- Extensive knowledge of Multiple Dwelling Law
- Extensive knowledge of Energy Conservation Code
- Extensive knowledge of Accessibility requirements
- Extensive knowledge of land use and entitlement processes
- Proven experience with NYC agencies including NYC Department of Buildings, NYC Department of City Planning, Board of Standards and Appeals, Landmarks Preservation Commission
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, and Microsoft Office Suite
