Job Summary
Collect and document assessment data, develop and implement Plans of Care, and administer medications per standard protocols. Evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes, provide education and discharge planning, and delegate care based on UAMS standards. Act as a resource for student nurses and staff while maintaining strict confidentiality and delivering patient care using defined nursing modalities. Work 40 hours weekly for 13 weeks at $60/hr plus weekend differentials, requiring a valid Arkansas RN license, 12 months acute care experience, and Chemotherapy certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current University of Arkansas System employees, including student employees and graduate assistants
- Valid RN license issued by the State of Arkansas
- 12 months experience in an acute care hospital
- Experience in the past 12 months must include 6 months in a direct patient care role in an acute care hospital
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an RN in an acute care hospital
- Experience in the last 12 months may include up to 6 months in a management position, but must include at least 6 months in a direct patient care role in an acute care hospital
- Two (2) or more years of RN experience
- Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Applicants cannot be currently employed by UAMS, and previous UAMS employees must have terminated more than 180 days prior
- Must be able to work one major holiday and one additional holiday if applicable, in addition to every other weekend throughout the duration of the 13-week RN Internal Contract agreement period
- Two (2) or more years of RN experience
- Must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR)
- Chemotherapy certification will be required to work Oncology units, will certify with one week of hire
- Must pass a pre-screening testing with a minimum score of 80%
