Job Summary
Conduct one-hour in-home counseling and clinical case management sessions with families in Service Area 7 once weekly, while completing comprehensive intake assessments and coordinating care systems. Perform unannounced child safety visits, arrange Multidisciplinary Case Planning Committee meetings, and provide referrals to assist with court mandates. Collaborate with DCFS social workers to achieve case plan goals and maintain accurate documentation of weekly progress notes, assessments, and monthly reports. Attend weekly supervision and team meetings. Requires a Master's degree, active licensure, and ability to work flexible weekend and evening shifts. Valid California driver's license and vehicle required.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or related field (or in the process of obtaining Masters Degree and approved to begin practicum)
- Current license (or on track to obtaining licensure) from the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Professional Clinical Counselor
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and evenings
- Permanent U.S. residency or citizenship
- Vehicle for use to conduct in-home sessions
- Valid California Drivers license, current auto insurance, and good driving record
- Ability to pass background check and criminal clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Three years experience in conducting individual, group, and family therapy with children and families
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience in working in a community based organization
- Knowledge of Southeast Los Angeles County
- Trained in facilitating parenting skills groups
