Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing care for pediatric patients with feeding tubes and medication administration needs in South Austin, TX. Assess patient conditions, document all activities and nursing actions in electronic records, and implement updated care plans under RN supervision. Educate families on disease processes and self-care techniques while maintaining infection control standards and reporting changes to the physician. Maintain personal accountability by complying with state regulations and Aveanna policies. Requires an active LPN/LVN license, current CPR certification, and reliable transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state in which the clinician will practice
- Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
- Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
- TB skin test (current within last 12 months)
- Must have reliable transportation
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Must be able to sit and climb stairs
- Must have visual and hearing acuity
- Must have strong sense of smell and touch
- Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
- Must comply with all health-related requirements in all relevant jurisdictions, including required vaccinations and testing, subject to exemptions for medical or religious reasons
Desired Qualifications
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home health experience
- Attention to detail
- Time Management
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Good organization and communication skills
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
