Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing care in the home for young adult clients, managing feeding tubes and medication administration under RN supervision. Continuously assess patient conditions, document all activities and nursing actions in electronic records, and update care plans based on evolving needs. Implement infection control measures, educate families on disease processes and self-care, and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention to reduce risk. Maintain personal accountability by complying with state regulations, the Nurse Practice Act, and Aveanna policies while ensuring timely communication with supervisors and physicians.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state in which the clinician will practice
- Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
- Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
- TB skin test (current within last 12 months)
- Reliable transportation
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
- One (1) year of pediatrics experience (South Carolina)
- One (1) year of experience required working under current nursing license (California)
- One (1) year of experience required working as a licensed nurse (Louisiana)
- Continuing Education as required by state
- Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
- Ability to travel
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Ability to sit and climb stairs
- Visual and hearing acuity
- Strong sense of smell and touch
- Ability to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Ability to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
- Required vaccinations and testing, subject to exemptions for medical or religious reasons
Desired Qualifications
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home health experience
