Job Summary
Deliver skilled nursing care in the home, administering medications and managing feeding tubes for pediatric patients while documenting all assessments and interventions. Monitor patient conditions continuously, report changes to supervisors or physicians, and implement updated care plans to prevent risks. Educate families on disease processes and self-care techniques while maintaining strict infection control and confidentiality standards. Ensure compliance with state regulations, the Nurse Practice Act, and OSHA protocols during daily shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
- Current TB skin test (within last 12 months)
- Reliable transportation
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
- One (1) year of pediatrics experience (South Carolina specific)
- One (1) year of experience working under current nursing license (California specific)
- One (1) year of experience working as a licensed nurse (Louisiana specific)
- Continuing Education as required by state
- Two (2) years Registered Nurse experience with cardiac monitoring and oncology experience (Medical Oncology RN specific)
- Two (2) years experience with vital assessment, plan of care development, and telephone triage (Ambulatory RN specific)
- Two (2) years Registered Nurse experience (Medical Surgical RN specific)
- Two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience, preferably with oncology experience (Peri-Operative Care RN specific)
- Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
- Ability to travel
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Ability to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Ability to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases (compliance requirement)
Desired Qualifications
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home health experience
