Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing care to pediatric patients in-home, administering medication and managing feeding tubes while documenting all activities and assessments via electronic tablet. Develop and update nursing care plans based on physician orders, continuously monitor patient conditions, and report changes to supervisors or physicians. Educate families on disease processes and self-care techniques, ensuring strict adherence to infection control measures and state regulations. Maintain personal accountability by complying with Aveanna policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and OSHA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
- Current TB skin test (within last 12 months)
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must have visual and hearing acuity
- Must have strong sense of smell and touch
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
- Must comply with all health-related requirements in all relevant jurisdictions, including required vaccinations and testing
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
- One (1) year of pediatrics experience (South Carolina specific)
- One (1) year of experience required working under current nursing license (California specific)
- One (1) year of experience required working as a licensed nurse (Louisiana specific)
- Continuing Education as required by state
- 2 years Registered Nurse experience with cardiac monitoring and oncology experience (Medical Oncology RN specific)
- 2 years experience with vital assessment, plan of care development, and telephone triage (Ambulatory RN specific)
- 2 years Registered Nurse experience (Medical Surgical RN specific)
- 2 years of Registered Nurse, preferably with oncology experience (Peri-Operative Care RN specific)
Desired Qualifications
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home health experience
- Attention to detail
- Time Management
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Good organization and communication skills
