Job Summary

Deliver skilled nursing care in the home, coordinating quality patient care per physician orders while continuously assessing conditions and reporting changes. Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and care coordination in electronic tablets, and develop, implement, and update individual nursing care plans. Recognize evolving patient needs requiring intervention to prevent or reduce risk, taking appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes. Educate patients and families on disease processes, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies while maintaining infection control measures per OSHA standards. Maintain professional accountability by complying with Aveanna policies, state regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
  • Compact licenses must be transferred to the state of residence within 90 days
  • Current CPR certification with hands-on component
  • TB skin test current within last 12 months
  • Reliable transportation
  • Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
  • One (1) year of pediatrics experience (South Carolina specific)
  • One (1) year of experience required working under current nursing license (California specific)
  • One (1) year of experience required working as a licensed nurse (Louisiana specific)
  • Continuing Education as required by state
  • Two (2) years Registered Nurse experience with cardiac monitoring and oncology experience (Medical Oncology RN)
  • Two (2) years experience with vital assessment, plan of care development, and telephone triage (Ambulatory RN)
  • Two (2) years Registered Nurse experience (Medical Surgical RN)
  • Two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience, preferably with oncology experience (Peri-Operative Care RN)
  • Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
  • Ability to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
  • Ability to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases (compliance with health-related requirements)

Desired Qualifications

  • Six months prior hands-on nursing experience
  • Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
  • Home health experience
