Job Summary
Supervise, support, and guide individuals with developmental disabilities through daily activities, including meal preparation, hygiene assistance, and medication administration. Facilitate community involvement while teaching daily life skills to foster independence. Provide personal care and toileting support as needed. This role requires reliable transportation and the physical ability to lift up to 50lbs. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, pass background checks, and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills. Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a high school diploma.GED (proof must be shown upon hire)
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- DSPs working day shifts must be able to provide transportation to activities
- DSPs working day shifts must have and be able to provide evidence of valid license, auto insurance and have an acceptable driving record upon hire
- Successful clearance of state and/or federal background checks
- Must be reliable
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
- Ability to effectively adapt to different situations
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Must have the physical ability to lift, push or carry up to 50lbs
- Must be able to walk, climb, kneel, squat or crouch, as needed, with or without reasonable accomodation
- Must have adequate communication, time management and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to remain active for extended periods of time
- Must have a positive attitude, friendly demeanor and strong sense of accountability
