Job Summary
In-Home Behavior Therapist (BT) Trainee provides one-on-one therapy to children on the autism spectrum, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans and helping build communication, social, and daily living skills. The role involves data collection on a tablet, working under the supervision of a BCBA, and starting at $21/hour with a guaranteed pay increase after passing the national board exam (RBT). Training begins with a 40-hour program and competency assessment; no prior ABA experience is required, with preferred backgrounds in childcare, camp counseling, preschool teaching, or paraprofessional roles. The position emphasizes hands-on clinical experience, direct client interaction, and collaboration to support pediatric clients in a home-based setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to play on the floor, run, crouch, and lift up to 35 lbs to support active children
- Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (if traveling to in-home client sessions)
- Complete 40-hour training course and pass initial competency assessment
- 1:1 therapy with pediatric clients under supervision of BCBA
