Job Summary
Import Sales Representative sought in the greater Philadelphia / New Jersey area. Develop long-term customer relationships thru sales and daily account management for an importer/packer/shipper with strong fruit categories (grapes, stone fruit, citrus). Sell on FOB and delivered basis to domestic retail customers; leverage established retail contacts to grow market share. Small, family-oriented sales team with strong benefits; office-based in NJ/Philly with a preferred hybrid arrangement for a proven sales professional. Occasional travel to visit customers and attend trade shows. Requires college degree or relevant produce-industry experience; experience in season-long program bid pricing and FOB/market sales; import experience helpful.
Required Qualifications
- Previous fruit sales experience required in grapes, citrus and/or blueberry categories is required.
- Strong experience/relationships working with domestic retail customers.
- Successful experience in season long program bid pricing and FOB / market sales.
- Thorough understanding of fresh produce supply base, production, and operations.
- Import experience helpful.
- Occasional travel to visit customers, periodic visits to trade shows and production areas.
- College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study desired, or relevant experience in the produce industry.
