Import Digital Transformation & Compliance Manager

Lead the Import department’s transformation—driving the automation of import documentary flows, ensuring validation, quality and traceability of import documentation. Oversee reporting and cross-functional communication of inbound flows to key stakeholders, anticipate issues, and enable alignment and decision-making. Build and mentor a high-performing team, define objectives and KPIs, and promote operational excellence, accountability and compliance. Design and implement automated documentary validation flows, identify which controls can be automated via RPA and which require AI capabilities, and define the automated flow architecture in collaboration with IT. Monitor technology and regulatory trends affecting automated inbound processes (e.g., REX, ICS2) and translate impact into validation rules. Apply LEAN methodologies to standardize and optimize processes, and lead cross-functional reporting to stakeholders (Purchasing, Sourcing, Distribution, Logistics) with visibility on inbound flow status and regulatory/logistical updates. Define document types to reclaim from suppliers based on origin country, Incoterm and transport method (e.g., certificates of origin, FCRs, REX, EUR-1, BLs) and maintain business rules across corporate systems. Ensure packing list quality from suppliers aligns with transport/Customs documentation and that import documentation is ready before goods arrive, following up with suppliers as needed. Ensure compliance with customs and commercial regulations applicable to supplier-provided documents, and establish pre-arrival quality checks to minimize incidents. Coordinate issue resolution with suppliers, forwarders and internal teams; maintain physical and digital document archives for auditability; align vendor policies with Sourcing and Purchasing.
