Implementations Network Engineer III (Secret)

Job Summary

Coordinate customer circuit activations, manage Service Orders, and execute Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A) in accordance with DISA standards. Analyze DISN databases to validate requirements, configure network devices using configlets, and resolve technical issues through testing and documentation. Monitor deployed changes for traffic impacts, perform network performance optimization, and conduct simulations to determine optimal routing paths. Engage with stakeholders to facilitate approvals and ensure forward progress on service requests. Requires BS degree with 4-8 years of experience, a Secret clearance, and DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification.

Required Qualifications

  • BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Proficient knowledge of various network hardware equipment specifications, configuration and testing processes, and industry specifications
  • Knowledge of configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems
  • Network engineering, problem management, and performance management experience
  • Understanding of basic telecommunications and information technology terms and technology
  • Knowledge of data and voice network design carried over various transmissions systems, router to router connections using military and commercial protocols such as BGP and ISIS, switch-to-switch trunking to include VLANS, and circuit configurations through multiplexers
  • Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF, etc.) and network appliances (e.g., routers, load balancers, domain name servers, firewalls)
  • Ability to work in a team environment, but self-driven to complete assignments while continually developing proficiencies in processes
  • Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills
  • An active Secret security clearance
  • DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience at DISA, or knowledge of DISA systems and processes
  • Prior experience with SharePoint data entry
  • Experience performing customer outreach
  • Experience with DISA Request Fulfillment process and associate documents (TSRs, TSOs, completion reports) and circulars
  • Basic understanding of Department of Defense, its policies, and hierarchy
  • Basic understanding of DISA organizational structure and how different elements (DITCO, etc.) contribute to fulfilling mission partner TSR requirements
  • Network certifications: Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security certifications (Security + CE, CISSP, etc)- ITIL certification
