Job Summary
Impact Litigation Staff Attorney will work with the Director of Impact Litigation to identify and pursue litigation and legal strategies aimed at systemic change. Responsibilities include developing arguments, drafting pleadings and briefs, participating in strategy, supporting amicus and legislative analysis, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to advance civil rights and racial/gender justice through complex civil litigation in federal and state courts. The role requires strong legal research and writing, strategic thinking, creativity, sound judgment, and a commitment to collaborative advocacy with a focus on protecting the rights and interests of SSR’s client population. The position emphasizes engaging in wide-ranging litigation from investigation through trial and appeals, developing trainings and practical resources for direct-services teams, leading or contributing to amicus efforts, and informing policy and legislative developments that may impact SSR’s clients and communities. Compensation is $74,000 annually (salary exempt) plus comprehensive benefits; location is Tulsa, OK. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with priority by May 31, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an American Bar Association-accredited law school
- Membership in good standing with the Oklahoma Bar or eligibility for admission to the Oklahoma Bar
- Familiarity with constitutional law, civil rights law, and/or complex litigation
- Excellent research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to client-centered, trauma-informed advocacy and to indigent defense, racial justice, and systemic change
