Job Summary
Execute single-cell genomics and multi-omics workflows, including 10x Genomics platforms, from sample acquisition through library preparation and sequencing. Process primary samples for tissue dissociation, cell isolation, and viability assessment while performing QC using Qubit, TapeStation, and Bioanalyzer. Optimize assays to maximize sample quality, cell recovery, and reproducibility, and establish SOPs for experimental best practices. Collaborate with bioinformatics teams to interpret complex datasets and support translational research, biomarker development, and therapeutic hypothesis generation. This role focuses on wet-lab experimental biology within a multidisciplinary research team advancing human disease biology at Vertex.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Genomics, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related discipline
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
- Deep hands-on expertise in single-cell genomics workflows
- Particular experience in 10x Genomics platforms
- Strong wet-lab background in NGS library preparation
- Molecular biology

- Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and optimize technically sophisticated experiments
