Job Summary
Prepare slides for immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and immunofluorescence, and execute IHC/ISH special stain procedures manually and via automation. Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance, recognize troubleshooting needs for processing, embedding, and cutting, and operate general laboratory equipment including automated analyzers, microscopes, and pipettes. Work in a fast-paced environment while championing safety, compliance, and quality control. This role involves routine access to protected health information requiring strict confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- BS in biology, chemistry, other sciences
- A Minimum of 2 year of Histology laboratory experience with IHC training
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms
- Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in a high volume laboratory with documented immunohistochemistry experience
