Job Summary
Immunohematology Specialist III in Charleston area conducting crossmatching, ABO/Rh typing, antigen typings, and transfusion-related testing in a reference lab. Responsibilities include performing sickle cell testing, quality control, antibody identification, filling blood orders, maintaining rare blood inventory, rotating on-call, laboratory computer tasks in LIS, quarantining/discarding non-conforming products, equipment calibration and maintenance, training staff and students, and other duties as assigned. Requires SBB/ASCP certification and strong workload organization, communication, and teamwork skills. In-person role with hourly pay.
Required Qualifications
- SBB ASCP certification required
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload
- Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, donors, sponsors and co-workers
- Ability to work with all levels and in a diverse environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
