Job Summary

Conduct intakes, prepare immigration applications and affidavits under attorney supervision, and manage client correspondence while organizing case files in Salesforce. File documents in immigration and family courts, provide oral advocacy in proceedings and USCIS interviews, and deliver Know Your Rights workshops to members and partners. Offer direct legal support for removal defense, U/T visas, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases, and carry a personal docket as an accredited representative. Maintain DOJ Accreditation through ongoing training and attend staff meetings. Requires bilingual English/Spanish, two years of immigration legal experience, and availability for evening/weekend work and travel between boroughs. Based in the Queens office with hybrid in-person requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in the U.S
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least two-years of experience working in immigration legal services
  • Willingness to seek DOJ accreditation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills of the highest caliber
  • Experience working with MRNY's membership and client base–immigrants, survivors of domestic violence, LGBTQ identifying individuals, and youth
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high intensity environment
  • Willingness to travel between borough offices
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic work environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Attending ongoing trainings to develop further immigration substantive expertise to become or maintain DOJ Accreditation
