Job Summary
Maintain immigration case files, monitor calendars, and document client communications while ensuring timely follow-up with USCIS, EOIR, DOS, and DOL. Assist attorneys with litigation and trial preparation for removal proceedings by drafting motions, correspondence, and filings, and compile indexes and exhibits for court proceedings. Attend assigned client meetings in person or virtually and safeguard all confidential client information. Work independently to keep clients informed on case progress and serve as a liaison to court personnel. Requires a Bachelor's or Associate's degree with relevant legal experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with two years of legal experience
- associate degree with three years of legal experience
- Two years of immigration law experience
- Two years of customer service experience
- Paralegal Certificate (Preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Active listening
- Critical thinking
- Complex problem solving
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Especially Word)
- Strong ability to multi-task effectively
- Strong organization skills
- Detailed oriented
- Strict adherence to legal confidentiality requirements
- Candidate should be a motivated self-starter who is able to work independently and communicate effectively with clients and their legal team
- Candidate must have a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced immigration law environment
- Candidate should possess a demonstrated history of excellence in their career, as well as a passion for serving immigrant clients and communities
- Candidate must have excellent customer service skills
- Candidate should have the willingness to cross-train for other job functions
