Job Summary
Represent clients in immigration matters, including family-based petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, asylum, and removal defense. Draft and file petitions, applications, briefs, and supporting documentation with USCIS, EOIR, and other relevant agencies. Conduct client consultations, evaluate cases, and advise clients on available immigration options and strategy. Develop case strategies through legal research and investigation of client circumstances. Represent clients at immigration court hearings, USCIS interviews, and administrative proceedings. Maintain strong client communication and manage expectations throughout often lengthy processes. Stay current on evolving immigration law, policy, and agency procedures. Collaborate with paralegals, assistants, and fellow attorneys to ensure effective case management. Full-time, Monday–Friday; no weekends (on-call availability applies).
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing in IL
- Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including the ability to explain complex legal processes clearly to clients
- Ability to manage a high-volume and diverse caseload independently
- Commitment to client advocacy and ethical legal practice
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in immigration law
- Licensed and in good standing in MO, KS, TX
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages)
- No weekends (on-call availability applies to speak with potential clients applies)
