Job Summary
Immigration Advisor provides immigration sponsorship and related services for international students and scholars (F-1 and J-1) at the University of Rochester. Responsible for managing a large, diverse caseload through pre-arrival, enrollment, employment, and years beyond degree completion; developing and delivering workshops and online resources; advising on immigration requirements and permissions; coordinating with campus offices, government agencies, and external organizations; ensuring SEVIS compliance and accurate reporting; and supporting orientation and transition services. Requires evaluating eligibility for on-/off-campus employment, advising on visa categories, and guiding dependent family members on immigration permissions. Strong conocimiento of current regulations, effective communication, and ability to work within ISO policies and university-wide practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2+ years of relevant experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience
